It's mind blowing to me that we were able to get this amazing bed for such an insane value. There's a reason it has sooo many perfect reviews. This is the cooling version of the even more popular best selling mattress on Amazon. First, Zinus has all the certifications you want to see, that ensure the mattress is safe from harmful materials. Second, it's hard to top the ease of being able to order a really great mattress online, and have it delivered to your door without the need to schedule a delivery appointment through a freight company. Third, Zinus offers an exceptional free return policy with a sleep well guaranty. Fourth, this mattress provides the perfect combination of dense foam and memory foam with a cooling foam layer. I'm 100% convinced this is the best combo for a super cozy mattress that will last for as long as you want to keep it! I bought this mattress to replace a VERY old dense foam mattress that I topped with an egg crate foam plus a memory foam topper, that created a combo that was perfect for me. I wanted to emulate the feeling of my prior mattress and this one had the dense and memory foam layers, all in one, which I hoped would eliminate the need for adding any toppers. Well, we have had the bed for several weeks now, and we love everything about it. We chose the 12 inch version, but that was overkill, and we would have been just as happy with a 10 or even an 8 inch, because the mattress is so well made. Once you open the package, just lay the mattress down and allow it a couple of hours to fully *fluff up*. It will expand to it's full size within just a few hours. It offers the perfect combination of comfort and support. I'm a side sleeper and too much firmness can result in so much pressure that your shoulders, arms and fingers can get tingles or numbness. But, if it's too soft, your back will be very angry with you! That has not been the case with this mattress. You will feel little to no transfer of motion from your husband, wife, partner, or pets that you allow in bed. I have found that I settle in quickly and don't wake up feeling the need to switch positions all night. That's the best sign of a great mattress to me. I have had the same mattress for the past 5 years, and it came to me already five years old. I admit, as a night owl I didn't consider that I might have a more challenging time going to sleep at night because my bed was uncomfortable. I got a mattress topper for Christmas, and it helped a bit, but I didn't notice a huge difference. When my friend mentioned she'd bought a new mattress under similar circumstances, I began searching for a new one immediately. As a student, I obviously cannot really afford to drop $1000 on those fancy mattresses people kept recommending. The Zinus mattress caught my eye because A) it was recommended on just about every site I looked for "High-quality, affordable mattresses," and B) I have a 2-year-old Zinus bedframe that I love and has served me so well. I've had the mattress for a few days now and although it arrived a bit too firm for my liking, it has since softened. Granted, I spent some time walking on it to break it down faster. I expect the mattress to become even softer as it continues to modify to my body shape. Mattress preferences are extremely subjective, but for a 120-pound female, this mattress feels heavenly to me. I've been so excited about how it feels that I'm spending a lot of time in my bed and trying to go to bed earlier. I'm biased toward the brand but I will modify this review if I notice the quality of the mattress degrading. It’s been six months since I purchased this mattress and it has been such a game changer. It’s so comfy that it’s sent me down a rabbit hole of getting new, equally as comfy bedding to accommodate it. My bed is my favorite place in the world right now. I think for me this seemed like one of those too good to be true things because a mattress in a box is a weird concept for sure, but I’ve not had a single issue with it in the time I’ve had it. To anybody on the fence, there’s so many mattresses out there that purport to be one thing or another or the best in the business and the truth is it’s so subjective. But I don’t think the expense of a product has to equate to its quality. The $1000 mattresses aren’t necessarily better sometimes. This mattress was affordable and has proven itself. I’m very happy with the purchase

It is comfortable. It’s firm but not too hard to sleep on. The size was just as I ordered. The thing I disagree on is that it cools. I don’t care how many cooling gels it has. It will not cool any unless the room itself is cool. I still think it a good price and good mattress

I have back issues and I’ve had this mattress for a few days now. It expanded to size within a couple hours of opening, and is so comfortable. I’ve been sleeping great and wake up pain free. I used to have the old model in plush but I am glad I went with the medium firm. I was considering splurging to get the lumbar+ version but I am glad I didn’t. P.S. I’ve actually purchased this mattress twice, one twin and one double, mainly for our kids, and overall I’ve been happy with both. We’ve had the twin for a few years now, and it has definitely softened over time. That said, it’s still holding up and doing its job, especially for everyday use. One thing I did notice is that it was quite supportive at the beginning, and it actually helped with my partner’s back when we first got it. It strikes a nice balance between comfort and support, especially for the price. For a busy household and kids using it regularly, I think it’s a solid option. Just keep in mind that like most mattresses, it may get softer with time.
