Our dog loves it and great quality but dog is allergic to chicken Had to switch types of food and treats with Wellness dog foods.

When we adopted our 7-lb Chiweenie, she was underweight with a thin, dull coat that shed like crazy. Also, her pink skin had an odd gray tint that I originally thought was built-up grime but it did not come off with bathing, and her haunches had scaly patches of gray skin flakes which no amount of oatmeal shampoo could soothe. I thought she was a picky eater because she just was not that interested in her meals. These symptoms persisted while we had her on a "big name" but low-quality dog food. Enter Wellness Core Small Breed. By the end of her first 4-lb bag, our dog had a fuller, shiny coat with healthy skin--no more gray tint or skin flakes! Her shedding is also greatly reduced, she is at a healthy weight, and she seems more energetic and just happier overall. She actually gets excited for mealtime now and eats most, if not all, of her food as soon as it is offered. As long as she is happy with this food, I will continue to buy it--to me, the results are well worth it!

Finally, a dog food my fussy Havanese will eat and not tire of in a short time. I tried everything. It is the right size for him and not too small or too big like so many others. He needs a small breed dog food, and I want him to have the best food I can get. That leaves not too many options. He adjusted well to the transition to this food too. He has normal poos, and not gassy from it. My favorite companies don't make a small breed dog food, and even making the kibble smaller for him (with mortar and pestle grinding) became tiresome, and he still did not love the food for too long. He got tired of it. I rated this food a 5 because my dog still likes it (on second bag) and the ingredients seem to be higher quality compared to most. I wish the company would reveal more about where their food is manufactured in detail, from where they source their ingredients as well and take notes from the makers of Orijen and Acana in that regard. I still add some chicken or turkey to my dog's food, but he can eat it plain and likes it. He also likes the crunchy Petite treats by Wellness.

Changed to this food for my toy poodle and she actually eats it. She normally hates kibble and won’t eat it unless I mix in other food but this she will eat without a problem. Her BM are much better as well. My only issue is issues with packaging and delivery. Twice the bags have had perforated holes along the sides and don’t feel comfortable feeding to my dog.

My dog has put on weight so I purchased the healthy weight grain free and it has passed the doggie taste test. Seems tobe filling and I alwsy a spoonful of a wet grain free dog food as a topper. Hopefully in a month or two a few pounds will be shed. The grain-free turkey dry dog food that I used for years, from a certain cooking lady, had all but disappeared from everywhere so I gave up hunting it down and decided to look for another grain free that had to be turkey as the first ingredient. I wanted only turkey and that is really hard to find. Tried a few and some had morsels that were too big while others did pass the doggie taste test. This one has turkey first and does include chicken, however, it has passed the doggie taste test and is now what I use. I am also pleased that if Amazon is out of it I can pick it up locally at Petco or PetSmart,

My 3 year old yorkie has been taking Wellness for about 1.5 years and i"m sure its one of the reasons she is so healthy, she has a beautiful coat, great teeth, and very active. I leave it out and she eats whenever she is hungry, I don't think that she is really nuts about the taste. I only said this because I tried Royal Canin and she absolutely loved that stuff, she would eat it all out once I pour it in her bowl and I can tell that she was loving it - maybe too much, because she started eating her poop. For this reason, and due to the grain content I switched her back to this stuff. I understand that his is not going to be cheap, but she is a 3.5 pounder so a bad lasts forever. I know that this stuff is better for her even though she likes the other stuff better. I wish sometimes that someone would force me to eat salads only. Shipping was ultra fast from amazon with prime - I got it the next day. PROS: - Great Value, the ingredients list is amazing and the price is not terrible - The size of the kibble is perfect for my little baby - She has no health issues and is a happy dog - I'm sure this food has alot to do with that. Cons: - none I can think of, I wish she likes the taste better, but as we all know the stuff that taste good is never good for you.
