Really impressed
This little powerhead works great. It comes with quite a few attachments and options. My favorite attachment hooks onto the end of the outlet nozzle and splits the flow so that it shoots water up and forwards. I'm using it to power a large sponge filter from aquarium coop. It hooks straight onto the sponge filter - with a little force. Very snug fit so it won't fall off. The flow was too strong for my 20L so I used a small intake sponge (also aquarium coop) and a zip tie to diffuse the flow. It seems to be very quiet without the aerator line attached. With the aerator line attached it's a little loud but I don't mind. Definitely worth the price.

Quite a bit of power, maybe too much...
So I have 2 powerheads for my 55-gallon tank, one on each side and both having diverter "fans" to deflect the current so that my fish don't have to feel as if they're salmon spawning upstream 24/7. So when one of my powerheads went out (albeit after 10 years of flawless operation), I began the search for a replacement and stumbled upon this. The reviews were good, and the price was excellent; but once hooked up (no diverter fan and the airflow sputters for about 10 hours or so), this was way more flow than I needed, the water current roiling away at the top, even as I moved the outflow as far against the glass as I could. My poor fish were back to spawning mode (I unplugged the unit). Perhaps if this will be your only powerhead, then it's perfect since it does move the water and thus is effectively filtering your bottom gravel. But if you're like me and have a powerhead on each side of your tank, you may find this a bit too much (I dropped down to a unit at half the power, 8 watts vs. the 15 watts this uses) and found it perfect. Just so you get a reference, my four silver dollars are fully grown at about 4 inches, and my Plecostomus is about 9 inches so they could take "the flow" but...with the quieter and less-powerful powerhead, the tank has again settled into a peaceful mode. No more bubbling water, just the sound of bubbles...ahhh.

Good powehead
Nice powerhead. I would love to have given it 5 stars but it didn't come with any attachment to fit it to the Aquaclear Quick Filter.

Very pleased
This is a very good powerhead at a very good price. I have been using it for several weeks now for an undergravel filter with no problem. I am using two, and they are very quiet. I am very happy with it, and so are my fish.

Good Powerhead and Quiet
I bought this and compared it with the Super SUNSUN JVP-022 Aqua Power Head Pump, 158 GPH. Seems like its made from the same manufacturer. Both are rated similar but I think the AquaTop is a little more powerful for water flow. I attached this to a sponge filter in my 55 gallon tank supplementing a Cascade 1000 canister. Works great and water is clear. The powerhead pushes the water flow from one side of the 55 gallon to the center in a 48" tank, so pretty good in circulating water. On the other end I have the outlet from the Cascade. I think this powerhead is good for 30 - 75 gallon tanks depending on dimension of your tank and what other filtration you may have together.

RIGHT SIZE AND POWER FOR MY UNDERGROUND GRAVEL SYSTEM
I have a 55 gallon tank and was looking to replace a unit that would fit on the lift tubes and still be submerged. I also was looking for a pump that provided the right amount of circulation thru the system. I also use a box filter. Be aware that the UG system competes with box filter and pulling too much of the solid waste into the gravel, out of the reach of the canister, can be a problem. Maintanence includes vacuuming and replacing water (with a Python) to keep tank in great biological shape. Hopefully this power head will last as long as my old one ( 10 years) to avoid taking out UG system!! Happy with price and quality so far!

Total Junk!
This review is for: Aquatop MaxFlow 211 GPH Submersible Aquarium Power Head - High-Performance. I thought this was a deal too good to be true... and I was right. First off, it has only a 3-foot power cord and instructions tell you it MUST go directly into an outlet. Then, it was missing multiple attachments and last, after plugging into the wall, it wouldn't even run. This is total garbage. I returned it. Note: I have had multiple aquariums over the past 30 years, both fresh water and salt water, and have always used a Penquin Powerhead by Marineland, and that's what I'm going to continue buying. They cost more, but worth every penny and last for years. Do yourself a favor and look that up right now. You won't be sorry.
